Anyone know when they might be making more downloadable PS1 games available to us Europeans?

Not sure, but I think I'll waste my days away playing Theme Park World until more are released :p

I'm happy playing FFVII and MGS until the next update.

If I really wanted to I could buy games off the US Store but cannot be bothered...laziness:o

Someone asked that question on the Playstation blog today, and the Sony rep's answer was: "There should be some cracking titles coming in the next few months, that’s all I can say at the moment though".

So I wouldn't hold my breath..

Well FFVIII is due this month if that's any use to you. I'm still playing Vagrant Story - damn that game is good.

Haven't tried Vagrant Story yet. Was put off the PS1 classics when MGS wouldn't run very well due to my CFW (again!).

Beginng to wonder if its worth the hassle.

Thanks guys, yeah I think I'll download FF VII and MGS, only got the PS3 last month, it's class that they're available anyway. Might try Vagrant Story at some stage too. Should keep me busy for the meantime. Just wish there was more choice, I'm too impatient, and jealous of those lucky Americans!

Create a US account and download* from their site. Jealousy averted.

*Not all credit cards work though. My VISA does, but Mastercard doesn't, afaik. You can buy cards to redeem on US PSN.

Personally I'd love to see them release Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter (now THAT was a game) or indeed XMen vs. Street Fighter

I think they'll release more as the year goes on. They prob got a shock when over 100,000 people downloaded FF7! I'd say that took them by surprise, even given the huge fan base the game has

There were a lot of great PSOne titles but don't forget that a lot of the games were multi format and some of the companies may have given up since these earlier games were released....it will take a while for Sony to find the right legal status to address on these games so they can be re-sold....but it will happen

I recomend creating a U.S account as you can ust buy us psn codes on the internet and then download from the store, theirs alot of quality titles on the us store.

I got sim city 2000 the other day but its really hard to use as they didnt bother changing the buttons so it works with a PSP so the L button rotates it the R button zooms in then you have to push right on the anolouge stick to zoom out again. and you cant scroll unless you have something liek a road selected. Turned a game i allways wanted to have on my PSP into a nightmare.

Got Comand and Conqour as well and that was really bad too put me off going back to more. The games are never as good as i remember.

Same here, the game plays alot faster than I remember and I forgot how short the attack range is for some units:D

The music and sound effects are as good as I remember oh and the cheesy movies that just made the series. Reminds me of playing this back in 1997.

Red Alert and Retaliation are exactly how I remember them and are not as fast as C&C.

You can completely customise the controls to you liking though, have you tried that?

Just thought I'd revive this, was wondering if we'll ever see Silent Hill or Resident Evil available from the Store. Would love to play them on the PSP!

Just get a US PSN card and download them from the US store. The PAL conversions on the EU store are piss poor.

Yeah you're right, I probably should do that. I just don't really fancy the bother of buying the US codes off eBay and switching accounts etc. Do I need to know someone in the US so I can use their address? I think this is the only option though, I read somewhere that there's licence issues with games like resi evil, tomb raider etc being available here because the European publishers are different or have been taken over or some nonsense like that.

Do you have a credit card? Makes it easier to d/l games. If not, then eBay is your friend. Code will be emailed to you fairly quickly.

You're not switching accounts, you're just using a US account to d/l games, that can be played on any account on the PS3.

You will have your "Wolverine359" account to play any game d/l'ed on your "Wolverine359USA" account.

No, you just need a valid zip code. 123 Main St., California, 90210 should do.

No, your other option is to open a Japanese account.

This is all useless unless they release Tomba!

I'm going to do this, sounds like a plan! I tried my visa last night but it won't accept one without a us address. Will go with us psn cards from eBay, do they post out the card or just send you the code by email (wasn't really clear from the sellers I looked at)?

If you have a VISA, it should work. Mine does.
    1. Go to your Billing Information page on your US account
    2. Password
    3. Put in your proper details until you get to State/Province, then put in California
    4. For Postal Code put in 90210
    5. Country/Region should be US from when you set up that account.
    6. Job done. :D

This is how mine is set up.

I tried this but it wouldn't work for me unfortunately, kept saying credit card information is not valid. I must have tried 10 times because then it said it cannot be updated, so I'm locked out completely now. I think I'll have to go the ebay route for us psn top-up cards.

Thanks a million everyone for your respective advice on getting a us account, i got an american psn card off ebay too, and everything works like a charm. To get the ball rolling, i bought silent hill and tried it out on my psp. I'm very happy now! :D Thanks again!!
