Pregnancy worry

    Hey guys,

So long story short, my girlfriend has been on the pill for several years and she normally takes it around six each evening. Stephen's night, she simply forgot to take it at six and we had sex around half eight. We then headed out and it was only when we got home that night around two that she realised. She then took it.

So in effect she was about 10 hours late taking it and in that time we had sex. She has taken the rest of them as normal since. She is due her period this Saturday but lately she has been feeling down, emotional, back pain and general nausea. Do you think she could have gotten pregnant? We did a first response test last week and this was negative. However I now think that we did the test too early.

    Any help appreciated.

What makes you think you did the test too early?

Once it is taken within 12 hours she should be protected. I can't see the effects wearing off in only 2 and a half hours. (From regular pill taking time to time of intercourse)
Maybe have a read of the leaflet that comes with the pill.

The reason I say that maybe she took the test too early is that first response works up to six days before period is due. If she took it last friday then thats eight days before it is due.

Firstly relax about it because she either is or is not pregnant. Secondly if she's on the combined pill the window for missing it is 12 hours. So if she took it within twelve hours and took the following pill at the normal time then chances of her being pregnant are slim. Use alternate methods of contraception if you think her pill working has been compromised.

Agree read with the leaflet. It's most likely ok but you need to be more informed.
