Hey guys the gf just text me and said that the electric heater thay have in the sitting room in a student village had a green spark/flash coming from behind it and a sizzling noise, it did it again when they turned off the switch on the wall. Any one know if it will be safe with the switch off at the wall and it wont go on fire or anything?

    Thanks

Should be OK once its turned off at the wall but I would unplug it anyway. Electric heaters are notorious for causing fires.

if its wired correctly and has an on off switch on the wall it should be fine ones its off, just be careful that it is not a combi electrical heater, this will have two switches and both will need to be turned off, but it should be obvious
