    Right think we should make our own mission.

    To start with we modify a version of Domination.


    My suggestions:

    18 players (pog said he can do this server side)
    Only pilots can fly so 2 pilot slots (add rolling text to say only pilots can fly.


    Any others?

    18 players, nine classes so we got 2 of each when server is full,
    2 dedicated pilots,
    Ability to lock all vehicles,
    Replenishing ammo boxes,
    Artillary distance default 1km,
    Better toys as rewards,
    Maybe have one attack chopper at start, locked of course, pilot fly only

    You reckon You can edit these into 1.30?

    I've limited the server to 20 players for now, seems to lag with more than that, although we had 28 on it yesterday without a crash.

    Make that a 20 player mission, 10 classes, 2 of each

    ACE stamina off too?

    I know it's been tweaked but you still can't cross a field if you have a javelin and satchels on you without passing out every 3 seconds.

    I dont mind it, 217 on the server and its only if your stupidly overweight you fall over.

    Better management of vehicles would remove falling over.

    I only use a javelin when assaulting a town and i stay beside the ammo box until all tanks down. Then the javelin is dumped for my assault loadout.

    Gonna start on this saturday, most of the scripting has already been done by others just a matter of editing it.

    lol knew at least one of us was :D

    When i get home i send you a link on how to unpbo files, then you can edit the map and mission script pbo them back up and test on the server.

    Nope has to be dedicated for some reason, if you join a local server it kicks you out for using the same cd key.

    Maybe someone ha s away around it but almost every mission has "thanks to ACCB VR 1st Captain Winters for testing" or something like it.

    You can easily run a dedicated server locally, just make a copy of Your game folder and setup the configs.

    I'm liking it now they tweaked it. Its kinda realistic, You can't equip a javelin and a machine gun and run across a field in real life. Just means we gotta plan better, maybe have a dedicated AT soldier or have an ammo box near by at all times.


    Anyway, read on BI forums that no stamina = no backpacks/rucksacks

    I normally look for the AT slot and always have a smaw when the location is sketchy or a javelin when I know there's gonna be an ammo box nearby.

    Speaking of slots - is there any benefit from picking the AT slot? I've heard talk about the pilot class not blacking out - does the AT get more backpack space or anything?

    No extra space, but I believe the stamina depends on class, as in, the AT and MG'ers have more stamina than say a pilot or medic

    Interesting - so maybe I was on a medic when I got pasted in a field the other night. I'll have to experiment a bit.

    I always pick the AT slot, just out of habit I suppose. I'm not sure of any benefit. I was a pilot the other night for the first time out of necessity, I could carry the same amount as AT. Didn't notice any difference with stamina, but then it's hard to guage with all the tweaking going on lately.

    I had an epiphany :O


    I assume theres at least 40 churches in cherno. Start with :

    2 GBUs 2 AH 2 Tanks , small mission for maybe 8 people. Simply destroy every church in the map. Towns have protection but no reinforements.


    Hopefully the chrisianity lads or muslims dont see this thread :)

    I was thinking a custom mission based on that afghan/iraq map could be fun. Some kind of spec-ops bravo two-zero type stuff would be sweet.

    Maybe infiltrating an iraqi province during the height of the gulf war to eliminate some evil lieutenant or something. That'd make a good 4-8 man mission. No vehicles, just a HALO insertion with preset weapons and no reloads. You take with you what you need and if you run out you loot dead enemies.

    You could have a mixture of high-tension, stealthy approaches and balls-out, shoot anything in a towel bullet-fests.

    I map up the 1st one morrow, will use any script we can find then i send it on to yor when it completley fails to work :)

    theres loads like that, one we had before (pog will know )we had to meet a guy to get info then call in an airdrop and then move onto other things, we never got to the other things :D

    need to start playing these more, they the reason i got the game :D

    I prefer no respawn, would like to tackle the one where we had to take out an evil commander and do a roadblock. co insurgents?????

    now that i think of it, im not sure we finished any of those missions or even got close.

    the steal heilcopter one, the once were soldiers.

    Yep, we need to start locking the server and getting stuck in to them. I dream of the day where it's PvP, and it's a 3-4 man team trying to infiltrate a town with maybe 4-5 (realistically,it'd be nice to have more) insurgent/ragheads guarding....preferably at night. Guaranteed you'd be talking about the **** that goes down for days after.

    Some PVP have like 4 humans with AI squads vs 5 humans.

    AI squads get tanks and **** :D

    Just let Max be the evil one in charge of the AI. Its his birthright.

    This is what i have working all on my own :D

    Start with 10 soldiers in the north of Isla ammo box and MK19 Humvees (optional version IDF and Steyrs), move tru 3 towns mostly CQB using JWs house patrol sqm to place AI in evil places.

    Tonight i will add 3 Obj into each town (HQ, Tower, Commander). Making them work seems to be my downfall. An extraction is the final Obj.

    Gonna try make it a revive mission too using Norrins revive.

    I've got something very similar going, only it's just one town with an intro involving being dropped off by choppers, picked up by a boat (RHIB) and dropped near the town. I'm using JW's housepatrol and ammo box scripts and I've got respawn on cause there's a f*ckload of AI in the town.

    Both!

    If you're injured you can be healed, unless you're really dead and then you respawn. Same as normal JW missions but with respawn instead of crow.
