    Hi guys

I have volunteered to aid the production of new SOP manuals for the hotel I work for.

There are manuals already in place but they are dated and it needs to be done from scratch but I have not got a notion of where to start.

Can anyone help me with any advice if anyone has already been in this situation?

    Thanks

I've redone manuals from scratch, not for hotels, but they were SOP texts (for amusement parks), but are you at least able to use the same framework from the old ones? Start with that, you'll end up growing your manual & ultimately changing the format until its unrecognizable from the original. A hotel as a finite number of processes, compartamentalize them, map them out with a flow chart & go from there.

If your manager has asked you do to a task, and you haven't got a clue where to start, I'd say head back to the manager and ask them for some clues.

    (Make them earn their manager-salary ;) )
