    Hi all,

Looking at booking flights with aer lingus in june- they've jumped DRAMATICALLY in price over the space of a week and I'm wondering now, does anybody know from experience if that little thing that flashes over the price, saying "only 4 seats left at this price" mean that when those 4 seats are sold, the price will go up or is there a chance it could drop?!! Im gobsmacked at how the price has shot up and kicking myself that I didn't book earlier :(

    Thanks

yeap, its basically 4 seats left at the cheap price
all booking after the cheap seats are sold will be higher, thus compensating for your cheap seat afaik

It means right at this moment in time there are only 4 seats left at that price before they increase to the next price level. It doesn't mean that Aer Lingus won't make a decision to reduce them again in future though - that all depends on whether they continue selling at a satisfactory rate and what future sales they introduce.

Dramatic price rise could be explained with the announcement or confirmation of an event of some kind taking place in the city around the time of your flight in and/or out of your destination city, I will never get use to the frustration at being beaten by aer lingus and ryanair regularly when date/time of man utd matches are confirmed - prices in and out of manchester skyrocket instantly

They could well come down again if they have another sale and they seem to have one every few weeks, unless, as the others have said, there's a special event on where you're heading to, in which case you're probably better off booking now. Usually I book flights about 1-2 months beforehand whenever there's a sale at the right time, prices go up and down like yoyos! Just got burnt flying at Christmas as booked at expensive price as was sure they wouldn't go down, it being that time of year, but would have saved almost €200 if I'd held out longer and booked 1-2 weeks before flying!
