Laptop Liquid damage - insurance question

I managed to spill about half a bowl of watery Thai soup over my Sony Vaio z series laptop (bought Sept 2008) on Saturday. Anyway screen went black almost immediately and I turned the power off and took out the battery ASAP. I then turned it upside down and watched in horror as soup dripped out!

Anyway the good news is that's it's covered by my home insurance and a courier picked it up yesterday to take it to their repair service who will assess it to see whether it's fixable or not - should hear from them in the next couple of days.

here's what my insurance policy says I'm entitled to:

1 Where the Damage can be economically repaired, We will either arrange or authorise repair

2 Where the damaged or lost item can be replaced with an item of similar quality, We will either arrange or authorise replacement. If an exact replacement is not available, We will either arrange or authorise replacement with an item of similar quality
Where the replacement or repair of any item results in an increase in the value of that item We may make a deduction in respect of Betterment

3 Where We are unable to economically repair or replace the item with an item of similar quality, We will make a cash payment equal to an agreed replacement value

4 Where We have offered repair or replacement but You prefer a cash settlement, We will pay You an amount equal to the amount We would have paid had the item been repaired or replaced

Anyway I've got a few queries:

If they offer to repair it should I accept it or could I argue that extensive liquid damage can never be fully put right and I would run into problems down the line due to corrosion of components etc

If I'm offered a replacement I'd be very reluctant to accept anything other than than a z series as it's very hispec. Unfortunately Sony Ireland no longer carry any z series laptops on their website. Sony UK only sell them to order. When I rang them they told me this is because there's a new model out in a couple of months so they're not selling any more of the old model off the shelf.

So could I reasonable expect the insurance company to offer me a decent cash settlement on the basis that it's not possible to replace it at the moment. Maybe they'll just offer me what the estimate the value would have been on the 2nd hand market - how they'll determine this I don't know because I haven't been able to find any used ones for sale in Ireland.

    Sorry about the long post.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.
