Just for the hell of it, sprinkled a bit of thai fish sauce in front, as well as some dog food kicked into the ground a bit as back-up. We'll see what comes of it, I know for sure there's one fox in that area.

whkere di you get the camera and what kind is it? i was thinking of getting one

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,271 ✭✭✭✭johngalway

I think I got them from Ebay. One is a Moultrie i60 and the other two are Bushnell Trail Sentry. Got one of each out as not all my rechargeable batteries were full of juice before dark.

Search using my name, and you'll find photos I've posted in the past.

There are no forms I know of, the season is rarely open, but you will know as the President opens it. After ballots are cast the season is closed due to the game entering into a phase of uncontrolled fear, NUIG studied this phenomenon and deduced it was a complete fear of trains, gravy, and gravity.

As for the poster prey, they can only be taken by shotgun. Unless, a safe backstop can be ensured from an elevated firing point, then any calibre rifle is eligible.

    Is there a bag limit?

Well blackbirds and field mice seem to be the only animals interested in being on Candid Camera so far. I'm going to move the two I've put out next week if nothing shows up. Put out the third camera, another Bushnell, on a speculative path today for the hell of it.

What about a bait bucket John! I use them to attract foxes to my snares. All you do is fill a bucket with the waste from skinning rabbits and cleaning out game, put on a lid and leave for a few weeks. Then bore a few holes in the bottom of the bucket and hang from a tree in the desired location!

Yeah Eddie, I've been thinking about that. Another way is the "stink tube", pretty similar concept. Length of pipe, drill holes in it, two end caps and a chain to keep it where you would like it.

My delivery man, i.e. YOU, is slacking on the job lol :D

No venison at all actually, I don't shoot deer, yet :(

The snow was the best trailcam, I tracked a fox across my drive into the woods, back out of the woods across the drive, across the road and over a neighbours stone wall.
    I would like one though.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,271 ✭✭✭✭johngalway

    We got no snow here.

Maybe you should get a pussy cat instead of a trail cam :D:D

Foxes are prob all shot in your neck of the woods!!

Are you still seeing some at night?

Over the years, i have noticed that some foxes are fussy about their dietary requirements. IOW they eat only what their used to!
I see foxes sniffing out worms and stuff in fields and they paid no attention to any calls.

John try ordering some cheap trappers sen from the USA.
I bought some "Rickard's fox trapping lure" in Bass Pro in Canada, i think i was only about $7-$8 fro 35ml..

Was ment to send away for some lure myself! suppose to be lethal for snaring, and the mink version for trapping, better than any bait!! Never got around to it though. Was thinking of making my own for next year! Takes a few months to mature and its a bit messyas well!!!:eek::eek:
