Bad weather training

    Hello all, looking for some advice re: an alternative to cycling during bad weather. For the record I'm a recent convert to cycling and have been for the past year. I've done a lot of running in the past and want to know does running help or hinder fitness for cycling? Any advice is welcome.

    No expert but I imagine running would keep your cardio fitness up without being particularly transferable to cycling training, you use very different muscles. If you are used to running you are not likely to injure yourself which is a big plus so sounds like a good idea.

    Many cyclists cross-train including running over the winter, the trick is to know when to stop when the weather gets better so you don't turn into one of these.
