Looking for advice re: jsa claim

    Hi

I've been on jsb for the past few months I was told it had run out and had to apply for jsa. All fine. Took the application for means test and filled it out and handed it in with relevant docs they asked for and was told to just wait until I hear back.
However I've just realised that I only gave them details of my current account and not my savings account. Perhaps its also worth mentioning that the savings account is for saving money to pay back my parents the fees for the postgrad course that I'm currently doing.

How will this affect my claim? Should I go in and ask or just wait to the welare officer to come to me?

Anyone with any ideas I'd be really grateful!

Why are you saving to pay back your folks? shouldn't you just pay them back with the monthly amount you save? this way you won't hand a potentially large amount of savings that would affect your claim.

On a side note JSb and JSA should be so much that you can afford to save momeny every month. Perhaps you've not currently saving into this account but your post implies you are.

In the same boat, didn't mention my savings a/c on form, waiting for means test. Pretty stoopid. Brickin it now. did you go back to the office? Did you have your inspection yet?

What someone does with their money, or how they choose to spend it is not a topic for this forum. Do not question another poster on this please.

OP, Your savings will only be assessed as means if you have in excess of 20k. So best to tell them and be upfront. Just pop into your claim processing area in your office, and say you forgot about the account and give them a statement.
