So I'm upgrading my 2005 Nissan Primera 1.6 for something a little better.
    My options are a 2005 Audi A4+A6 or 2005 BMW 318/320D.
Another option is a 2007/2008 Ford Mondeo (diesel).
Basically looking for opinions on the Audi/BMW choice as regards the Mondeo.

C'mon guys...I'd have expected all the BMW/Audi petrolheads to jump all over this?
    Surely someone have an opinion?

The Mondeo and the Audi/BMW are not in the same class as each other so no comparison can really be made.

    How much are you spending?

Why not look at the Jag X-Type? Drove one of them today (2.2 diesel) and I must say there really is some poke in them.

Nice cars too although some people will say they are a Monedo with a Jag sign on the front...

    FYP:P

    FWIW:
The Ford Mondeo has been elected by the lads on Top Gear as the family car of 2007. “The Ford Mondeo is the only car that we could all agree on, including the Stig

    Well I can get a 2008 Mondeo for a 2005 BMW/Audi...that's what I meant..
Basically I'm looking for people with either cars expressing their opinion on their car and it's reliability..

    thanks guys..keep em coming :D

I've owned a lot of Audis and no BMWs but I'd advise you to get the 320D

I'm sick and tired of having the things in Foster motors getting stuff repaired, or replaced or inspected. I love the comfort, but it's kind of negated by all the time stuck in the garage.

Maybe give examples of some cars you're interested in and people can give you better opinions then. There are pros and cons to all the cars listed to be honest. It's hard to tell you which one is best for you without details of what you need/mileage/budget/how long you'll keep it etc.

Well I'm looking at the cars I mentioned initially.
Mileage is about 12-15,000 a year and budget is approx 13k..could go up a bit though

So I've narrowed it down to either BMW 318/320 or Audi A4..which is the most reliable?
