    Ment to be going to alicante in spain the week of cheltenham and just wondering does anyone no whether they would they be showing the racing in bars there and would there be alot of bookmakers shops there?

    I would imagine loads of places showing it in bars etc,if no bookies (try google) put some money in a betfair account before you go.

    I stayed in Spain a few times and the bars tend to show racing and have a bookie on the premises. Stick with the Irish or English bars and you should be ok. Presumably your staying in a resort of some sort??

    ya ill do the majority of my bets before i go , hope theres a bit of atmosphere in the bars for the raceing and me not the only one screaming at the tv, thanks for the help lads

    Loads of Irish & English people live there,you won't be the only one roaring at the box:)

    Hello,

    I'm off to Cheltenham again. When there before i stayed a fair bit outside Cheltenham near Cirencister. This year i want to stay closer to the city but the accomodation is really expensive. Has anyone any ideas of reasonably priced b&b's within about 4-5 miles of the town. Thanks in advance.

    I stay in Leamington just outside the town. Its about 15/20 mins walk into town or about 35 mins walk to the course (all uphill though :)). There is a nice village there with restaurants, pubs, shops, etc.

    Do a search for B&B's in the area, although I would imagine any accomodation close to town will be fairly costly. Course it might be worth haggling with them as numbers could well be down this year.
