how long to wait until cast is removed after surgery?

I broke my ankle on 31st December and had surgery to have pins and screws inserted into the ankle, a cast was put on the leg. I was told at the time, that no matter what, I should come in 2 weeks after surgery for an x-ray and to have the first cast removed, now the appointment is for the 21st of Jan, pushing it to 3 weeks, is it OK to have the cast of for 3 weeks after surgery?

Just keep it on, and get wimmins to sign it. It'll look cool then!

Shouldn't you have asked the doctor/nurse?

I'm sure it will be fine though seeing as it was them that pushed the appointment out. You could ring them and ask.

OP, it's always best to get this kind of advise from a doctor.
