    can anyone suggest any nice songs for the father/daughter dance?

    I have never heard of daughter father dance before, is this new or a cultural thing? Interesting. Anyhow, the song that came to my mind was Stevie Wonder Is int she lovely, written about his daughter when she was born.

    If you dont have your own special song (which Im guessing you dont as youre asking here) these pretty much always work and everyone ends up singing them which puts people in a good mood.

    dance with my father - luther vandross (I get asked for this probably the most but only cos I think people google it and see it on the top of the online wedding songlists but those lists are mainly american, its not very well known in Ireland but in saying that it is a nice song).

    you can listen most of the above on youtube.

    If you wanted to go for something quirky theres lots of artists with one off songs which are nice.

    Its very much the done thing in america but I would say only about 1 in 10 weddings here have a dedicated father-daughter song.

    Of all the weddings I've been to, (and there have been alot!!!) the most recent was the only one that I've ever seen a father daughter dance at and the band sang "butterfly kisses" it was hair standing on the back of your neck stuff!

    Michael Buble also has a song called "daddy's little girl" which has lovely lyrics.

    I like the My Girl suggestion that would be a lovely one :)

    It was actually my dad's idea that we do the dance as he saw it at a wedding he was at last year, I think it's a lovely idea as well
