Google and Gmail will not open in Firefox or Explore ?

I cannot get into my gmail account or google start page they both time out, I cleared cache but still not working, I can get into most sites I use, but the search bar in google and yahoo do not work, but I can use yahoo in other ways such as news and images etc..... So do I have a virus or malware ?
