Has anyone xperience with using gsm to access a remote PC..what kind of modems will achieve this..speed is'nt important( dial-up speeds would be fine)..
thought of using the 3g modems but cant get fixed ip..

I guess you might be able to knock something together with GSM but it would be really really slow. Both o2 and Vodafone do offer fixed IP services bundled with their data modems - you could use one of these to get access?

The hard part with using 3G modems for this purpose is where the PC reboots - it may not login and bring up the 3G.

Have you considered using a router at the remote site with a modem in it? That would at least give you an appliance that might be more always-on than a PC.
