    Hi,
I'm used to using boards.ie on a computer and am finding it very fiddly to use on an iPhone. You have to zoom in to move to the next page, font is very small etc.
Is there an app for more iPhone friendly use?

    Bowsie

If you add it to the hoemscreen, it comes up as a little iphone type logo

In Safari, tap the + button and Add to Home Screen.

There is a great app for forums called Tapatalk, but the forum has to be signed up for, which boards isn't, but maybe they will soon.

+1 for tapatalk. politics.ie has it running for android (htc hero) and its excellent.

Anyone know if boards.ie is looking at it?

And I'm sure you know, but if not you can zoom in on the text by pinching your 2 fingers on screen pinch in, pinch out, !

The mobile version of boards.ie is grand though there are a few wee annoying things
    1. A posters location is not shown as in the regular version.
    2. You can't thank a poster on mobile version.
    3. When you quote a text the font for your reply along with the quote is the smallest I have ever seen.
    4. Images do not appear in posts.

I realize that these shortcomings are minor and that rectifying them may take away from the simplicity of the layout which overall is excellent. (I'm using it to type this). A specific application would be nice to see. One with options where you can choose to change any or all of the points above would be excellent.

Nah I'm used to the browser now, just takes practice then it second nature. I mean it only took me 7 minutes to write this response.

Just tried the mobile version on my iPhone. Prefer the real thing. Zooming and scrolling is no problem. I am actually amazed at the accuracy of the touch screen for selecting those tiny little page number buttons. Maybe you have big muck savage fingertips OP? :D

The problem really is that it's m.boards.ie, not iphone.boards.ie :)
So people using phones where screen space and data downloads are at a premium, need the simplest layout possible and the smallest page size possible. Add in unnecessary information and images (even worse) and you piss off anyone who doesn't have a more modern "smartphone".

I would still use the mobile site for browsing on the iphone though. The full skin is very heavy and slow on the iphone because of its limited processing power.

It's been suggested here. Boards is a big site though with limited manpower and these things need to be tested to ensure that they don't kill the whole site.

I like the new addition telling u how many times a post has been thanked. :) now the ability to thank a post on mobile would be great.
