I left neg feedback for a Seller on Amazon because the item I purchased was a piece of crap.

Now the feedback is gone from the Sellers profile and the item I purchased (and left a bad review on) has disappeared also.

Can the Seller remove neg feedback?

BTW, the feedback was not abusive or anything.

I know on ebay that you can't remove feedback. I presume amazon would be the same. If you could remove feedback it would be pointless leaving it in the first place. Maybe the seller got in touch with amazon and got it removed for whatever reason.

I bought low-price energy efficient bulbs before Christmas (from bargain alerts actually, got 3 packs of 24 for about €6 (or about €2 a piece including postage due to supersaver). The bulbs were great and I said this in the feedback but I did say I was displeased the price had increased by so much (presumably due to the influx of bordsies ;) ) - the price had been raised to €19.99.
Did my review ever see the light of day? Nope, it was submitted and never appeared. At least on Ebay its more trustworthy.

On a sidetrack, goldenpages.ie will remove poor feedback at a phonecall from the person in question. Good if you are a business on the receiving end of an unwarranted vendetta, bad if your just a crap business and can get all the negative reviews removed!

You can get feedback removed on eBay but only in certain situations:

I believe Amazon is the same but their criteria is different.

I sent an email to Amazon about this issue and here is the main content of the reply:

"It does appear that due to some error you should have removed this feedback unknowingly.

Please know that once the feedback has been removed we will not be able to restore your feedback. It is also not possible to enter a new feedback for the transaction. Thank you for your understanding
    "

Complete bo!!ox as I didn't remove the feedback. If there was an error, it was on Amazons system. I have sent off another email to clarify this but they have not replied

I wonder if Amazon and eBay use the same company for Customer Service

I think that if your feedback is a product review rather than a seller review, it will get removed. Obviously, if the thing was faulty it should stay. But if it would have been shíte whoever you got it from, they would remove it.
