    I'm curious,

If one can't sing, and by can't sing I mean *really* can't sing.

Can't play any instruments bar the drums.

What are the chances of them being able to write song's?

Is it possible to write good well constructed songs without being able to sing/write music/play instruments ?

I am in the same boat OP. I have perfect timing, can keep to the beat (amazes me how many great singers cannot sing in time) but my actual voice is crap.

Just another spin on this, i write my songs both musically and in arrangement form from playing the drums most of the time. Even though I'm primarily a guitarist

Most of the people I know rap can't sing. Probably the same reason I do it. Drumming is a good background to be coming from cos it's all about the rhythm of the words. Alternatively you could make beats: hip hop, uk funky, drum and base or any kind of electronic music. Again, drumming is a great starting point for production.

Can always write music and get someone else to sing it as well. RSAG can't sing a note either as far as I'm concerned but people don't seem to care.

Jeremy is not the best singer, seriously talented drummer though. He writes most of his songs starting with percussion and builds it up from there. Borrow a bass, guitar or keys and start bashing. If you've got rhythm you can play! When the focus is on the music and the groove the vocal is not so important

I will give you a master class in learning how to sing.

    1. Take a song you really like - but not one you love, as you're really going to hate it after you've done the next steps.

    2. Take the song you've picked - it's really useful to be able to play the song on guitar - But I suppose you can do this without a guitar.

    3. Play the song every day for about a month or two - it's like learning chords on the guitar: the first three weeks will really difficult. But as you move along, you'll realise your sing has improved - you'll be able to stay in tune and hit all the right notes.

    4. forget about breathing techniques or anything else like that - your vocal chords are like a muscle: they need to build up before you can do anything. Use just one song to learn on. Within a month you'll be able to sing - practice for few months and you'll hold yourself anywhere.
