Out in the elements

]Where did this new way of reporting the news come from where reporters have to be standing outside to deliver their reports? I can fully believe the utterances of the legal reporter, even if they are not standing in front of the four courts, or a political reporter even if they are not in front of the Dail etc. (As an aside, why is every economic report accompanies by a shot of a forest of feet on Grafton street?)
Usually it seems somewhat unnecessary. But tonight watching the RTE news, one reporter after the other was out getting drowned! I don't know what any of them were saying, I just couldn't take the seriously. I kept thinking, get in out of the rain you amadan. What's the matter with these people?

I'd imagine more people would be giving out if they were indoors reporting on the weather outside, we have the weather forecast for that.

Just off a long voluntary grammar enforcement shift? You'll need coke-bottle glasses if you keep up this punishing killjoy schedule.

He looked pretty miserable. If only he had some sort of hat or head-piece to protect him from the elements.......................:)

It's not exactly that new, is it? Even in Ireland.

Back in the day, it just wasn't hurricane season til you saw Dan Rather nearly getting killed on CBS on Sky at 12.30. Good watching.

Nah we pay enough for the TV licence nothing better than sitting at home on a cold wet windy night with a cup of tea in front of the fire watching the news and the reporters getting soaked to their skin and hoping that something funny might happen

Money well spent if you ask me

It'd be truly bizarre if they were reporting on the Irish weather whilst standing on a beach in the Bahamas.

How else are these reporters going to get the oppurtunity to show off their fancy hats?
