Does anyone know of any very large hotels or venues in Ireland? like the ones in American prom films with huge staircases and high ceilings or anything closest to that?

Oh and preferably within 2hours drive from Dublin / Maynooth? Thanks :)

I have to admit to reading that second last word wrongly and wondering why anyone would want to link their wedding to a movie like that

why indeed? Depends on whether youre asking the B or the G. ;)

Big venues? a lot of venues are set up as conference rooms for daytime use as well so arent really set up for it.

If youre looking for old style, maybe the shelbourne on stephens green, it has the staircase and the highroof? Other old style venues that come to mind are the mansion house or even the old Kilmainham gaol?

Are you just looking for a big room to hold a lot of people, say 200+, or are you just looking for room with lots of old style. Lots of big rooms out there, very few old style ones.

    ooh thats a toughie!

powerscourt house in enniskerry has a wonderful old style plush look to it.
also check out the Slieve Russell in Cavan.

would also agree with previous poster re. the shelbourne!
