Ice Divers on RTE news this evening

    A group of polish divers on the news this evening believe that they have done Irelands first ever ice dive, which I find very hard to believe. Anyone done an ice dive here or know of anyone who has?

    Based on the videos and reports, I think both dives were risky business (looking at the gear, the lack of safety diver on standby, size of entry hole, etc.

    Could have been easily been the first ice diving accident in ireland.

    Edit: Oh, yes, have done ice diving in Germany and Austria.

    If something had happened to them, it would make all of us look like chancers.. Diving is or can be a dangerous sport but fine once you follow the rulebook
