    Hello there.

    I am almost finished writing a book and I would like to know how to transform it into a script. Does anyone have any suggestions or links to sites that would be able to help me.

    Thanks a bunch.

    Sara.

    The technical stuff about writing a script isn't that hard. But why do you want to turn your book into a script? There are a lot more books published than movies made.

    Eileen's got a good point, and the answer to 'why' might have a severe impact on your approach.

    For example, many producers won't look twice at, nor read completely through, a written script, but will watch almost any video supplied to them.

    If you have a source that is looking for a script from you, then write away. I'd just grab a sample or two and lightly gaze over the format. From there, you know what the settings, scene set up, etc. 'look like' because you wrote the original book. The script should develop fairly smoothly.

    If you don't have a source already, then consider moving your efforts into a video format. Doing so will force, at the bare minimum, an outline for a script that you can flesh out later, and you'll have a more powerful medium with the final video output.

    Or did we both misinterpret & you meant more of a script for a play than for a movie? (or a libretto perhaps?) {EDIT: Sorry, just noticed in the title you said movie....dur}
