I picked up a few spurious batteries for my 50d. They appear to charge up in my Canon charger ok, but when I put them into the camera, it won't power up. Has anyone else experienced this? Am I doing something silly? Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

I use generic batteries in my DSLR cameras without any problems. Seems strange the problem you are having unless you got duds.
