qualifications in the uk?

are qualifications in the uk recoignised here?? I was going to do a distance learnign course with a college here that gives you uk accrediations once completed but i emailed the college to see if ireland recoignises the qualifactions and they wont answer?!! their website says This course is accredited by OCN - a UK…
