This thread is for all new shows premiering in 2010 ones you like and would like to share with others

There is no need for big discussions on each show (open a new thread or search for existing thread if there is one)

(mods please close if another thread similar exists)

I am excited about FX's new series Justified (previously called Lawman) starting in March. Timothy Olyphant from Deadwood and Damages back on tv as a lead actor.

    Also
Cable's top network USA network has ordered 11 episodes of "Covert Affairs," which will be ready to launch in the summer.
Perabo ("Coyote Ugly") plays Annie Walker, a multilingual CIA trainee unexpectedly promoted to field operative while reeling over a mysterious ex-boyfriend who appears to be of particular interest to her agency bosses.
The core cast of the 90-minute pilot -- including co-stars Christopher Gorham, Peter Gallagher, Kari Matchett and Anne Dudek -- will continue on the series, created and co-executive produced by Matt Corman and Chris Ord. Eion Bailey, who guest-starred in the pilot as the elusive boyfriend, is expected at least to have a recurring role.
USA already boasts a solid slate of original series that have propelled the network to the top spot in the basic cable rankings, so the mandate with "Covert" was to push the envelope, USA president of original programing Jeff Wachtel said.
"This in some ways is the most ambitious show that we've undertaken," he said. "The story is bigger, the production values are bigger, and the ensemble too is a little bigger than our other shows."
"Covert" will be shot on location in Toronto and ready to launch in the summer. However, network brass won't decide on a launch date until they see USA's other pilot, "Facing Kate," now filming. If "Kate" also gets a stamp of approval for a series order, USA likely would employ its 2009 launch strategy, in which it premiered one new series, "Royal Pains," in the summer, and one, "White Collar," in the fall.
USA has a solid track record launching new scripted shows. Each of the network's pilots picked up to series during the past five years has gone the distance, including hits "Psych," "Burn Notice" and "Royal Pains."

    Sounds similar to Burn Notice

Will Caprica (22 Jan) fill the BSG-shaped hole in some people's lives ? Mrs TarfHead hopes so.

Also keeping an eye out for 'Spartacus: Blood & Sand'.

But don't most shows debut in September?

    Sounds hugely original..!
MIAMI MEDICAL is about a team of expert surgeons who shine brightest under the adrenaline rush of working on the edge. As part of the Alpha Team at one of the premiere trauma facilities in the country, these professionals exclusively treat patients with life threatening injuries. Dr. Matthew Proctor is new to the trauma team, after leaving a lucrative private practice following his return from a tour of duty in a MASH unit during the first Gulf War. Dr. Eva Zambrano is a workaholic surgeon who wishes she had more time for a personal life. Dr. Christopher Deleo, "Dr. C.," is a playboy who thrives on the high-stakes of trauma medicine and is, by his own description, a genius cowboy. Dr. Serena Warren is fresh out of medical school and is quickly learning the meaning of trial by fire. Although the glue that keeps the team together is head nurse Tuck Brody, who balances the needs of the doctors and their patients' families in this chaotic corner of the medical profession. Together, this team of doctors excels in the "golden hour," the 60 minutes after being critically injured, when a patient's life hangs in the balance.

Not necessarily.. there are mid-season shows (e.g 'Human Target' and 'Men Of A Certain Age'), and shows scheduled to run over Summer ('Weeds', 'Rescue Me' being two popular examples).

Miami Medical = Miami Trauma....but since Trauma is out they changed the title. It's gonna be super fast pace, HIGH OCTANE, quick cutting and shakey cam....for that "realism" edge, meh!

Former teen stars Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence are returning to the small screen in a new ABC Family sitcom.
The aptly titled Melissa & Joey will star the Sabrina the Teenage Witch actress as a politician who hires a manny (Lawrence) to care for her niece and nephew when her sister winds up in jail. The half-hour sitcom was developed with the actors in mind after their ABC Family original movie, My Fake Fiance, shattered ratings records for the network last year.
Hart and Lawrence, both 33 (they were born two days apart!), have both appeared on Dancing with the Stars. Hart placed ninth last season, while the ex-Blossom star finished third in Season 3.
Melissa & Joey will premiere later this year.

^ aye i knew about Melissa & Joey....but it didn't really interest me, Pretty Little Liars and Huge sound more my type of shows.

I'll probably give Melissa and Joey a look, purely to see how the two main stars have aged. Dunno what year Sabrina ended, but haven't seen Melissa Joan Hart in at least 4 or 5 years and haven't seen Joey Lawrence since the '90s...

They both starred in the ABC Family movie "My Fake Fiance" last year, i hunt down ABC Family movies....but it was truely dire!, in the PR blurb the head of ABCF said they created the show specifically for them due to their "chemistry"......huh?

I saw no on screen chemistry in the movie.
