Holidays on the dole

    Hi all, i have heard you are entitled to paid holiday leave on the dole?? is this true? if so how to you apply, and how is it paid?

    Yes.

    At your local SW office.

    In arrears.

    Man im leaving this god damn job and claiming the dole. i got 1 week paid holidays this year.

    The way it is, you're entitled to two weeks per year,
    its so that if you're away, you aren't able to collect it at the post office so it'll be there when you get back & won't be returned to the SW because you didn't collect it
    Not too sure if ya can get an advance or not..

    This may be OT, but if you're working full-time, you are entitled to 4 weeks leave in a year, check out http://www.citizensinformation.ie/categories/employment/employment-rights-and-conditions/leave-and-holidays/annual_leave_public_holidays which says:
    The Organisation of Working Time Act 1997 provides for a basic annual paid leave entitlement of 4 weeks, although an employee's contract could give greater rights. It is also important to note that the periods of leave provided for by legislation are the minimum entitlements only, you and your employer may agree to additional entitlements.

    Last year i had 3 weeks
    You get 15 working days =without weekends
    Youre not getting anything in advance
