I have recently moved out of my parents home and i am currently living with my sister. As i was getting means tested too much living at home, i moved in with my sister and re applied for the means test to get the full amount. I am 23. When i handed in the form, the worker in the office said that a Social Welfare Officer / Inspector would be visiting my sisters house. Does this mean that i have to stay at home all day everyday until he/she comes, or does anyone know if they just say that to people.? PLease HElp xx

They may not give you an appointment. If you are not there when they call, they may leave notice they called or they may not. They will try again on another date to visit you. If after a number of visits over a period of time they still fail to meet you there they may decide you are not living at the address.
As for how long it could take, every office is different with different waiting times for different claims.
