Hi, Basically I was told by my employer I’m entitled to an Income levy refund. She gave me a form & said I will Prob have to show Revenue this form. Anyone have any idea how I go about getting the refund? Should I email a copy of the form or do I have to drop by the revenue office?

Also how long should it take before I get a check from them??

    Thanks

If you go to http://www.revenue.ie and put in a search for "income levy refund" on the top right hand side of screen, the first search that will come up will be the form for the refund.

Fill this out and post it to your local office.

You may fill in your Bank Details on the form and the refund will issue to your bank. As for how long it takes is any bodies guess. Could be anything from a few days to a few weeks.

    Hope that helps

I was told yesterday to fill in an P50 form, but I'm unemployed
as for employed people I think alll you need to do is to bring your P60 to the revenue and let them sort it from there

P60 won't be enough it is your income levy certificate that will be required. All employees should be given this cert with their 2009 P60 which breaks down income levy paid and gross income

I am doing my PAYE tax return today, but i spoke to my revenue office in wexford, who had advised me of 4-6 week process time from date they receive application to when payment is issued.

through years of claiming tax back, I find that it is usually to the lower end of the time frame scale they give, as they seem to be quiet productive in Wexford.

If you are claiming from another revenue office this post will not be of much help to you, so hope you are.

Having put off claiming the income levy refund since last year as i hate filling in forms ( stupid i know ) i decided to pull the finger out and just do it.
In 2009 we recieved a payment of back money we were owed since 2003 about 3 grand before tax, this money was hit by the income levy which was only due on money earned since 01-01-2009.
So i filled out the forms sent them off with fingers crossed hoping for a few hundred and today i am informed i owe the tax offic 5000 euro :(
