Mac Backup ?

Mac users - some advice please...

I have time machine running away in the background & it's grand to the external drive, but I'm looking to backup to a samba network drive also.

I want to backup file by file incrementally, a direct copy, not an image or clone... (so it's browse-able/editable) and, I'd preferably like it free !!!

There's no end of apps for the PC but I can't find anything for the mac. Anyone got any suggestions ?

Have this mac about four months not & have yet to do a backup & I hate not having one

Thanks for that. Looks complicated & will probably require a format (there's stuff I want to keep on there)
