Since Deus Ex is turning 10 this year, I am thinking of getting and playing this game for the first time. Is the PS2 version worth getting, since my laptop won't be able to play the one on Steam?

I played it on PC 10 years ago. Probably the best single-player game i have ever played.

I never even knew it was out on PS2 :)

Oh by the way, do not play Deus Ex 2 as personally i thought it was well bad compared to Deux Ex.

Shame it won't run on your laptop:(

It is the best game there ever was. Deus Ex 3 is in the pipeline.

Best game ever doesn't even come close to capturing the absolute complete epic gaming perfection that is Deus Ex, not to build it up too much or anything.

From what I've heard the PS2 one isn't nearly as good because the areas have to be divided or something like that but is otherwise identical, so try get it working on a PC, if not it's sure better than never playing it

You mean Deux Ex 2. There was no sequel to Deus Ex.

Deus Ex 2 wasn't that bad a game, it just wasn't as good as the original

Think he meant it as Deus Ex 2 Invisible War was crap :P infairness as a standalone game it wasn't bad but just didn't compare to the original (universal ammo! seriously?).
I personally consider Deus Ex to be the best game ever made and that fact that its now 10 years old makes me feel old :(

The PS2 version is supposedly awful. Just get it for the PC.

Aye, I suppose I was being a bit harsh. In itself, it was pretty good but they really did cut it down from Deus Ex. The plot and characters didn't match up either, I felt.

It was my own fault for building myself up so much for it. Let's just hope 3 brings it back to what it was.

Ten years? Wow. Seems like only yesterday I was shocking terrorists with my stun baton...

And I'll leave it at that, I don't want to take the thread any more OT.
