Try reloading the systems disk that came with your machine. Providing you have everything backed up. It only takes a few minutes and will bring it back to the original factory settings. You will need an external CD/DVD drive to do this. I do it every couple of months with mine.

There is a system restore option on this product but you need to be fast on the keyboard to access this. I have the same netbook i think and have had to do it with one we have at work. You need to select one of the f2 or f12 on startup when bios is loading and then i think f9 the option flash up very fast and you need to be very fast for some reason but its got a gost software image on the hard drive which will restore the computer back to new.

i did this on the work was as the window system file was bad.

Warning all you data will be lost if you do this

Quick Recovery with Just One Key
F9 Key for Quick Recovery The Eee PC 1005HA-P comes with a built-in quick recovery system that restores your system to its factory settings when you press F9 three times during start-up.

The quick F9 recovery process eliminates the need for a Windows CD or driver CD if you need to restore your system from the factory settings.

It is recommended that you backup your data with Eee Online Storage prior to using the recovery

It is also a good idea to partition the drive and jsut keep the basics on C and use D for installed fiiles, word docs and what ever else. That way you dont have to download everything again after a format.
