I'm currently on a break from my job as a senior psychologist and have been giving some thought to secondary school teaching. What organisation could I contact with a view to finding a route into teaching from my current situation?

If you mean teaching in an Irish secondary school as opposed to doing educational psychology, then I imagine like everyone else you'll need to look and see what subjects your degree(s) qualify you to teach according to the Teaching Council, and go do the Grad Dip in education. To the best of my knowledge, anyway. :)

I've been looking around for this information and can't seem to find it anywhere, can anyone shed any light on where I might be able to access it?

Nope! Just thinking about the options. Looking at that list it's not looking feasible. SPHE and CSPE might be options but I don't know if thats a likely job combo although I'd imagine they'd be interesting to teach especially for a current affairs addict like me. I'll give them a ring anyway.

Sorry, but to be blunt theyd be a joke of a subject 'portfolio' sure those subjects are given out as time table 'filler uppers' to any teacher. Its terribly difficult for teachers with far more desirable subjects to get work.Id say you would be almost unemployable with CSPE and SPHE as your subjects ...any chance you could squeeze in Biology?
