Ok,so the other night this light suddenly started flashing on my car. Turns out to be a fault in the brake system.

Only two things i could think of were brake fluid or Brake pads. The fluid seems fine and fully topped up and the brake pads were newly replaced in june so shouldn't be worn that much. So i am wondering if it's a faulty sensor or something like that? Should i replace the brake pads anyway just to be sure.

Could this flashing red light mean anything else?

    Car is audi a3 1.6

    Thanks

Could be a problem with ABS.

I had a problem with the cable from the brake waring connection shorting out at the shileding on the cable had rubbed thorugh and shorted on the body the odd time.

Seeing as it is brakes get it checked.

Best to check the security of brake pad sensors front and rear, and brake fluid level. As above, get it checked out asap especially with the roads as they are.

    .

Don't think it's a problem with the ABS has that was kicking in a lot over the recent weather. Also there is a seperate symbol for it. There is not grinding noises or anything but maybe that will come. Will get it checked out hopefully before the weekend anyway.

Everyone with a VAG car should get a Vag-Com (aka VCDS) cable:

Plug in to laptop, read error, look up online, fix yourself. No more going back and forth to (usually unhelpful) mechanics, saving you money rather shortly. Especially given how unreliable VAG cars are. :pac:

Very true. Just missed a known genuine one going there last week on an owners club site for £100 sterling.
