    €5000 Est
    ACE RACE Event
    €100 + €20 reg with 1 rebuy/top up @ €50
    Talbot Hotel,
    Carlow
    Sun 17th Jan @ 4pm (reg from 3pm)
    FULLY DEALERED
    THE ACE RACE
    How it Works:
Every time a player wins a WAD events Ace Race tournament they will receive a trophy with an ace on it. The first player to collect all 4 suits wins the rolling jackpot. We are starting the jackpot at €1000 and will add 5% taken from each event to the jackpot. We expect to have at least 4 monthly games in different venues where it will be possible to win an ace. There will also be a monthly Ace Race game online on Green Joker Poker where it will be possible to win one of the aces. At least 3 of the aces must be won in a live event.
You can keep track of the rising Ace Race jackpot on http://www.theacerace.com and on Green Joker Poker. We expect tournament entries to rise as the jackpot grows so get out there early and try and secure your first ace.

If you win one of your games do you get a choice of what suit you take?

Or could someone have won 4 of your games and have 3 of the same suit.

This was answered for me on a previous thread.

You just need to win 4 events (easyily done ;)). Each event does not have a specific suit.

You get a different suit each time you win. Spade,Club,Heart and finally Diamond. The player who wins the diamond wins The Ace Race.

Where did you dream this one up...?

How long do you think it will take for one player to win 4 of your events, and do you propose to put some kind of time limit on the promotion.

If so,what will happen to the "jackpot" money in that case?

(Why does it remind me of a certain "bad-beat jackpot" that was apparently won in the macau some lunchtime when the club apparently wasn't even open.);)

We done a trial of this in one of our pub games and the jackpot was won Monday night after 35 tournaments. That tournament had an avg of 50 players. This one may take longer but it means the jackpot will be a lot bigger. The money will be paid out. I cant comment on what happened in the macau as it has nothing to do with me. All I can say is that all our games are fully transparent and always have been so the jackpot amount is clear for all to see.

    Hi Tommy,
Maybe if you have a running jackpot total posted up on your website and on your posts here after each event it would help alleviate peoples natural skepticism when it comes to these types of promotions.
Good luck with it, I should make it on Sunday.

Thanks Gordon. Yeah I should have put it on the OP. Our jackpot currently stands at €1340. €340 from the Toughers game and €1000 that we added ourselves. Jackpot total is on the website in the Ace Race section. I will get it moved to the main page asap so that its easier to notice. Good luck on Sunday
    Tommy

Our last game (Toughers, Naas)had 47 runners. The last game in Carlow back in November had 27 runners and a €4k pot. That was our first game there so we hope to get more this time as we intend to run this on monthly basis.

Well done Gordon. Goes to show that tight is right compared to my loose/donkey style having over 25 per cent of chips 8 handed and out in sixth!!!!
