    Hi all,

Not sure if this is the right place, feel free to move if necessary Mods.

Fiancee is French and will be marrying me here sometime this year/ next year. Unsure though as to what is required of us.

I searched for it and can only find the French embassy in Ireland advising what an Irish person needs when getting married in France but not the other way around.
Anyone know where there is information?

    Thanks
    irish

I think I might have this in the wrong place unfortunately. Is there somewhere on the forums I should ideally put it? Mods, any advice?

You need to get her birth cert translated by an official translator.
You will also need to give 3 months notice of intent to marry.

I will be marrying a French girl this month. Its WAY easier than getting it done over there. My god the amount of red tape is mind boggling. In Ireland its nice and simple.

You serious, thats it? Just birth cert and 3 months notice?
We looked at doing it over there and you're right, I would have to get birth cert signed by embassy of France in Ireland, certificats de coutume, translations, copies of passport of witness/ my own etc but here so it seems easier?

    Thanks for that

Limerick Civil Registration Office St. Camillus' Hospital Shelbourne Road Limerick 9.30 - 4.00 Mon - Fri 061 483763

Give St Camillus registration office a call to get all the info.

Will it be church or civil? Ours is civil this month and the Church will be in France in August.
The Irish churches may need more than I mentioned.

Oh, and you will need your passport too and two witnesses, but all you need to give is their name and age, they can be changed at any time.

Civil marriage. Excellent stuff out of you. I will ring them tomorrow and get the low-down to put her mind at ease as I said, I was going to go over there to do it but its so messy!

    Thanks Jumpy
