Finishing the CAT

I started the CAT a long time ago and never got around to finishing it.
It's a loose end I always wanted the sort out.
I only have to complete 4 papers from T5-T10.

I am looking at two options.
One is DBS and the other is home study.

DBS only offer 2 subjects each half year at the cost of €365 per subject.
Leaving exam fees aside that means it will take 1 year and €1,460 to complete.

The other option is to buy the books and course materials from Kaplan/BPP and just do it myself.
Leaving exam fees aside that means it will take 6 months and £128 to complete.

Obviously this is assuming no fails :o
I was just wondering if anyone had recently finished the CAT and thinks the home study route is viable at that level?
If I can get it done as quickly and as cheaply as possible, I'd be chuffed.
    Thanks.
