    Hey there everyone,

mentioned it earlier in the year, and the plans are going ahead: my judo club is going to the Tournoi de Paris judo competition to watch some kick ass judo! We'll just be there for day one (February 6th), and so if there is anyone heading over to watch it, and wanted to meet up (boo the French eh? lol) while its on, then give me a shout! Cheers.

    I promised a friend I'd go, but we'd a falling out over the Christmas - he's not a boards member sooooooo he's a thick cunt :p

What site did you buy your tickets, and is there any recommended hotels like we got with the Worlds?.

Is there any Irish competitors there this year?

According to this: IJA squad, Lisa Kearney (-48kg) is the only Irish judoka selected and I suppose if she's fit then she'll be there.

This website offers tickets for the competition but it doesn't seem as complete as the FFJDA sales point: Tickets online.

The reason I don't think it's as good is it's not possible to select the special "2 day price" that is advertised here: FFJDA poster. (Although if one's only going for one day then it's not a problem)

When I've gone in the past I went for both days and talked to someone in the FFJDA by phone to buy the tickets. All this happened in French so I don't know if their English is any good.

As for accommodation, Paris is full of hotels so when I've travelled there I just booked something online in the Bastille area since it's close to Bercy (walking distance) and it has plenty of bars for evening entertainment.

Many of the delegations stay in the Novotel beside Bercy. If you want to do a bit of legend spotting then spend an hour in the foyer bar after the Saturday competition and you might see someone. I was there once and Yamashita walked past me. :D

Haven't bought tickets but was going to use the phone no. from this link http://www.ffjudo.com/tpif/default_old.asp?id=1557 today or tomorrow. My French is kinda crap though so we'll get one of the French students to do it for us!

As for the hostel I didn't book that either, I think it was just a random one from hostelworlds.com I'll find out and post it here. I'll definitely find out where the Novotel is, sounds cool!

And yeah I guess Lisa Kearney will be the only Irish competitor.
