Has anybody experience of this type of radio? (www.drm.org)

If the reception was satisfactory it would be a great improvement on analogue AM/Shortwave for listening to international broadcasters (such as BBC, Deutsche Welle, RFI etc.)

Although the bbc have trailed this with a local station for a year or so,and i think they have some world service on it,it is not supported by the bbc radio stations at the moment. It might well be in the future but not yet.

Yes BBC had a trial on digital AM, which was not too successful as far as I recall. There are regular broadcasts by BBC and Deutsche Welle, as well as others on digital shortwave although I have not yet heard of anybody here referring to them. Maybe nobody has the proper receiver (which retails on-line for about €200).
