average wedding gift per couple

    Hi,

    Myself and my other half are going to a wedding in 3 weeks time.
    Just wondering what is the average wedding gift in €

    I have heard the standard is:

    €200 per couple (fairly standard I think)

    €250 + per couple (if bride or groom are friends with the the couple or one of them is a close friend)

    €50 per couple to attend the afters (assuming not a close friend then)

    Would you concur with the above?

    Yeah around 150 would be the average imo.
    Fifty quid or so, either side of that, depending on how well you know them, seems to be the general amount.

    €150 would be what we generally give.

    €200 for very close friend
    €150 for cousin/not so close friend

    It's a personal thing, give whatever you want to give, I'm sure noone has invited you with a $$$ value in mind.

    We usually give €200 for someone we don't know that well double for someone close, €100 for the afters and €50 if we can't make the wedding.
