Generally speaking, so long as your pill is taken within a 4 hour time frame of your "normal" time taking it you'll be fine :)

Just to be safe that this rule applies to your particular pill give your GP a quick ring to confirm.

im on the combined pill so its a 12hr time frame. my concern is that i'd be taking it at 10pm and 10 hours later at 8am in order to change the time i take it.....

You could try gradually changing the time.
Like two hours earlier/later each day until you're at the time you'd prefer.

Sorry Op I misread your post I thought you ment morning time swap-over!

So, your normal time is 10 at night and you want to change to 8 In the morning?

Either slowly adjust your hours over the days or just finish out the strip and then on 1st pill of next strip take it at 8am and continue as normal from then on in :)

regarding time on pill...is it meant to be on a 12 hour time frame? Im on similar to yasminelle...ive been on that and switch between dianette and yasmine depending on which doctor i visited the past 15 years. Anyway Ive taken it anytime of the day...like 8am or 10pm at night. Is it really that important to take it at the same time or within 12 hours? I thought that was just for old generation of pills/one hormone?

I take the pill for my skin (acne), so before everyone jumps down my throat for being stupid ive very rarely used it for contraception...prob about 3 months in my life. Its just for future knowledge if i do use it for contraception. My doctor does not speak English and i dont know how to ask her this.(i dont live in Ireland)

Hi, in my case the instructions are in another language and not English and no doctors or pharmacists speak english here...so im completely clueless if time is important or not for the combined pill

Not advisable getting medical information that potentially effects the efficacy of your medication, and therefore has potential serious consequences, on an internet forum.

It depends on the type of pill, some 3rd generation pills have a shorter time in which they have to be taken.

I suggest you try and look up what the generic instructions are for your brand of pill as this info can often be found on the website for it.

where are you that your prescription is not in english and that there are really no english speaking chemists, I am sure that if you made the effort you could find one, or failing that get a friends or family member at home to find out from a pharmacist or dr for you and get back to you with the information.
