Not sure where I need to post this, but here goes. I am getting married in September and am thinking of recording some cover versions for the photo slideshow as a surprise for my fiancee. Only problem is, I can sing, but I cannot play any instrument. I was thinking of adding my voice recording to the backing track. Where could I source backing music? or what is the best method to do this? Thanks.

If you have the ability to record vocals yourself, then there's quite a few sites where you can download backing/karaoke tracks.
    http://www.ameritzireland.com/
Also... if you go to the iTunes store & serach for (your song of choice) "instrumental version", then you'll find loads of music available.

I did this myself over Christmas & recorded my kids singing Christmas tunes for the grandparents.

If you don't have the ability to record vocals yourself, then there's a few folsk on here who do this type of thing as their day job.

Well, I have a Mac and Garage band, I'm gonna get a microphone to plug into it so I can record my vocals. Thanks for the response.

This sounds like something Dav_Nagle can help you with. He posts here from time to time.

In that case, you could probably do it yourself (although, like Rockshamrover said, folks like Dav Nagle will get it sounding far more professional)… and don't be fooled by the "karaoke" tag in general... some of the backing tracks are very good... a lot of the iTunes ones seem to actually be the original recording, just no main vocal on them)

It is a nice thing to do as a gift best of luck with it, I have no doubt she will shed a tear or two, but if you want to do the singing and let me do the rest just PM me. Best of luck with it, there is singsongs.com and the other two the other gentleman already mentioned.
