Problem with Playstation 3 & Sony Bravia KDF-E50A11E

When i go to play a Blu-ray disc with my playstation 3 through my bravia tv it resets to 460p and goes all blurry. the tv supports 1080i and really should reset back to that and not the 460p. i tried it with 570 and 720 aswell but it wont play anything other than 460. games and avi's play through at 570 with no problems.…

anyone know where the problem is likely to lay?

p.s. all values are approx, im too lazy to go and look at the exact values.
