so I'm hoping to go back to college in sept, to do comp systems in UL thought I'd treat myself to a nice laptop to see me through, the only experience I've had of apple product are ipods and i have a 3gs,

my question is, what's the story with boot camp, is it just for windows, ? can i use it for linux distros also ?? I see there is parallels, but that just a vm, and doesn't interest me, I'd love to be able triple boot, mac, win, linux, what are my options before I seriously think of buying,

    thanks

It is possible to run Linux through boot camp, see here. I don't think it's supported though, so it might be a bit trickier then installing windows.

A good way to run Windows and Linux on the Mac is to install VirtualBox (free) or Parallels/VMWare (not free) to virtualise another OS within OS X.

As far as I'm aware you can't triple boot Apple hardware - Bootcamp doesn't allow it or at least it didn't when I tried some years ago. Running VMs will solve the issue for you.
