Toshiba Laptop wont Boot

I've a Toshiba Eqiuim A300. When I turn it on, the power button lights up and theres a faint hint of a fan but nothings happening on screen. I've tried a new battery, no joy. I've also hooked the laptop up to my tv to seeif it was a screen problem but no luck. I reckon its a motherboard problem, but hoping someone can tell…
