AFAIK the answer is no, but open to correction. i know it is possilble to go from usb to eSata alright though. anyway, dont you have enough USB ports on the laptop without needing to use the eSata?

i've only got 2 usb ports and i always use an external mouse so i'm reduced to one. i find a usb hub awkward cos the ports are right beside each other so i'd only get an extra port off it.

as far as i know know, no, because esata doesn't supply any power to devices so there would be no power to any device connected

Not sure if the question in your sig has been answered but deal extreme has them:

Might be worth investing in this USB 3.0 Express Card,
    for future proofing your laptop:

The only drawback with using Expresscards is that
they cannot provide as much current as a normal usb port.

They should befine with mice, and low powered devices,
but for devices that need more juice, youll porbably need to power the card from a usb to DC plug cable,
    that comes provided with them,
meaning you will have to use one of the exising usb ports on the laptop to power the card.

i thought usb 3.0 wasn't out yet. besides that seems a bit dear for an express card. most of the usb ones i found on the net (but on unheard of sites tho) were way cheaper.

Its out alright, you can buy an asus motherboard which has onboard usb 3.0 ports,

there is however a shortage of USB 3.0 devices out at the moment, but expect them to come soon. ;)
