    Hi, Im a female drummer in the laois area looking to start up a band, something fun to try out, doing some covers or writing own material would be great. Started at 15, but only got my kit 2 years ago. My influences, I've too many! Influences are Muse, Paramore, Queen, Kings of Leon, Greenday, U2, list is endless really! A wide variety of influences I feel is good, gives you your own sound. Male or female,guitarest/singer or bass/singer, it doesnt really matter! 17-24 years old. At request if wanted I can post up a recording(when I find out how!) of me drumming. Cheers for looking! :)

    Laois drummer looking for a band for a long time too.

    I don't think there's any other musicians in this county, we should set up an all percussion group!

    moved to laois about 4 months ago, a few signs up, a post up on this website and a few others, but nobody local go in touch and I'm not interested in being in a band in Carlow.

    Still, a female drummer? I'd say you'll be in very high demand.

    would either of u be interested in being in a band in dublin?

    @omadden:
    pretty similar to you, but my biggest influence is Jimmy Chamberlin of Smashing Pumpkins. Everything he's done has been inspired.
    If I was setting up a band and needed a drummer, I'd definitely take a female over a male (everything else being equal of course), better band dynamic, gets more interest just by looking different, and the possibility of a female vocal too. All good.

    @gamgsam:
    not really my kind of thing, and I'm trying to set up a pub/covers band at the moment to pay some bills, I'm painfully broke and unemployed these days.

    @Music-and-booze
    Too far for me, especially North Dublin, sorry mate.

    gangsam, cheers 4 offer, wouldnt be my kinda thing either, but best of luck! music-and-booze thanks also 4 offer but 2 far for me also! pineapple*soul, if we played different instruments we'd fit! Jimmy Chamberlin is a pretty awesome drummer, sad to see he left the Smashing Pumpkins, when I went to see them live I was blown away!

    :rolleyes: Jesus 4 months and you're complaining, I've been trying to start a band for nearly 4 years with little or no success and I live in the centre of dublin.

    No offence mate, but you MUST be doing something wrong. When I was living in Dublin I had band offers coming out my ears!

    @omadden
    yeah it is a shame and that was a great show. But that B0lly chap has been getting progressively weirder over the last few years, and the material's been getting more and more rubbish. I'd love to hear more solo work from Jimmy - did you hear the Jimmy Chamberlin Complex? Awesome stuff; they played Dublin a few years ago and it was absolutely the best live performance I've ever seen - and he's just announced a new band, 'This'.

    Hi. Laois based drummer here also. (it's ok, i'm already in a band!)...
    Maybe I'm stating the obvious but have ye been checking the small ads inside the front door of Anthem Music in Portlaoise? There's almost always a few notices up there from musicians looking for people to get something going, I've noticed quite a few drummer wanted signs up there over the past few months.
    All the best with the search for band mates. :D

    Any of you Laois drummers interested in a jam in Carlow? 2 guitarists, bass player, and singer looking for a drummer.

    Few covers to start with but will be hoping to do mostly originals.

    Influences....Foo Fighters, QOTSA, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, Daft Punk, Prodigy, Audioslave, Red Light Company, Friendly Fires.....the list is endless....anything goes really!

    Yes probably all that wanting to write songs and rehearse is what we're doing wrong. Anyway i'm not talking about quantity of offers I'm talking about quality. We've had 4 years of timewasters, bull****ters, stalkers and general weirdos but we're still looking we've also met a few decent musicians aswell but we certainly were'nt complaining about not finding anyone after just 4 months.
