Hey this is my first post on boards ,
Its great to be here :D
I wanted some advice from some serious tech heads (not being one to underestimate sycopantism) I heard boards was the place to come for the most expertise and intelligent individuals :D

    Anyway here it is.

case : Cooler Master HAF 922 Midi Tower Black
motherboard : ASUS Crosshair III Formula, Socket-AM3
Processor : AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition
    Memory : Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1600MHz 4GB CL9
    Graphics Card : ASUS Radeon HD 5850 1GB GDDR5
PSU : Corsair TX 850W PSU
    Hard drive : Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA2
Monitor : LG 22" Wide W2253V-PF, Full HD
Mouse : Razer Lachesis Gaming mouse Red
    Keyboard : anything
    Dvd : Samsung DVD±RW burner, SH-S223C
Headset : Creative Gaming Headset HS950

This is to be a good gaming computer that will last for a few years.
Im not very experienced at building so I think I need some advice , basically Im afraid that I will have some compatibilty issues with these parts.
Im looking at buying from komplett.ie .

Basically if anyone has some insight on the whole compatibilty front and any other thoughts I would be glad to hear from you.
    Thanks ,
    BATTERIES

Solid build, although the RAM may have problems running (Phenom's IMC's are very picky about memory speeds from what I've seen)

I would change anything, other than the Maximus Formula if you dont plan on overclocking. If you do,then get an aftermarket cooler.Scythe's Mugen II Rev.B is a great budget cooler (at €34)

Weclome to boards,by the way ;)

Edit: Just looking there,I wouldn't go with any sort of gaming headset. My brother has Turtle beach P21's and they're quality is much worse than my cheaper Sennheiser HD 515's.If you need the mic function, you can by a cheap clip on mic (Zalman do one for €6,I think)

totally agree with deano here solid build:D, only one thing i would change is the haf 922 i would go for the coolermaster storm scout
just bec it comes with a black insides which is nice.
the haf 922 is silver inside and price wise not a lot in it.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhIIxaodlKs
    theres the video on it
the haf is 108 in peats and the scout is 99

You could shave 200W off the PSU and still have comfortably enough room to add another 5850 down the line. Hearing great things about the HX650, it is modular as well. Or the cheaper TX 650 if you are not bothered about the extra cables.

Better space and stock fans on the HAF922 compared to the Scout.

I don't understand why people care about a black inside ! It's all the one...

*Edit* solid build aswel...As for gaming headset's I've heard horrible things about almost every gaming headset (Razor's where the worse) So maybe you would be just as well of getting a standard headset and a desktop mic if you need to talk...Other then that it looks good

From what I've seen, the Phenom's are very tolerant of 1066MHz Ram,so I'd go for a kit of that. Maybe one of these kits :

Not the best, but if you shop around (check out Elara and Pixmania) you can find nicer kits. But the Crucial is good.Look for G.Skill (any model) or Kingston (HyperX model),these tend to have the tightest timings out of all vendors

It should not be too much trouble getting decent 1333 Ram working on the vast majority of boards. Getting 1600 working is the real bitch :o.

In addition to the above mentioned the OCZ PC3-10666 Platinum kit would also be held in pretty good esteem IMO. Pricey enough at the moment though.

    I see,if were talking 1333MHz then I'm gonna suggest my kit,Corsair XMS3,great kit,runs very cool :)

Nice. I got the OCZ gold 1600Mhz myself, couldn't for the life of me get it running faster than 1333 though with the Gigabyte MA790XT-UD4P. The OCZ forums are full of success stories for the platinum version though. That is what I get for cheaping out for the sake of a fiver :o.

Probably the best advice for the op is to select the ram and motherboard and then do a quick check the manufacturer support forums of each to see if they play nice together or if there are any/many problems between them.

In my case OCZ are not on Gigabytes support list so they don't want to know, and the guys in the OCZ blame the gigabyte board.

My Steel Series Siberia are awesome, I wouldn't play a game without them! But most gaming headsets out there are ****, there is a few really good ones though.

There is nothing wrong with that RAM, we are just letting you know that you have options. ;)

A good starting point would be the memory support list. I wouldn't take this as Gospel mind, if something is missing from the list then it is usually just it has not been tested it rather than for any other reason.

Ok thanks for all the feedback ,
Ive made a few minor adjustments , Ive decided to get the MSI 5850 and not the ASUS one , The cpu is now the phenom 2 x4 555 BE and not 565 BE .
As far as I am aware these changes are not a problem , anyone else shed some light on the matter ?
Im also looking at the Gigabyte GA-790FXTA-UD5, Socket-AM3 mobo instead of what i had put down initially , does anyone have an opinion on this , keeping in mind the compatibility of it with the parts I have mentioned here and before

Thanks for all the help so far guys , Im almost there :D
