In all honesty, I don't mind going back to college in the slightest, but really - with all this chaotic weather (which many ppl can't travel in whatsoever) - would NUIG not even think to send students a confirmation as to whether the college will be open or not? Would make travel arrangements so much easier for everyone.

Think you can assume it will be open - most staff were back at their desks last week, Galway hasn't seen a lot of snow and the cold weather is due to ease a bit over the next few days, so no real reason to shut the place down...

NUIG could even just put a statement or something on their homepage so that students know exactly what the situation is! From what i hear it has been open all week and is unlikely to shut now!

Ok ya, now i understand why the uni didnt need to close. the weather is grand up here. Its just that that i left cork last night in almost half a foot of snow. would have been nice to get a confirmation though. anyways we're back now so thats that!

is that not one of the reasons why its so great going to college in galway? the fact that everything is a secret and its such a battle to find out anything from the college? it makes everything such an adventure!
