Can't Import Footage

    See video of problem below:

It's not apparent after Youtube encoding but there are a lot of bright green and red squares in the captured footage. The footage plays fine on my camera.

It was imported with HDV Split. I've had similar results with Premiere Pro CS3 and Windows Movie Maker.

I've tried many different tapes, two cameras and two firewire cables, all with the same problem.

Would that suggest that the problem is my firewire port or my computer?

I'm working off a Dell XPS M1710 2GB Ram 2GHz Duo Core. This is only a recent problem, I've imported several hours of footage lasy year without any problems like this save for a few dropped frames.

is this not just play back error in the editing program ?

is it on any outputed footage?
